When we moved to FL I hadn’t been able to paint for quite a while because everything was packed. I had an idea of a town off in the distance. A misty hard to see view of something wonderful. I employed a palette knife and impasto to achieve this look.
 
Unlike my many colorful paintings this was washed out to bring into view the image in my head. I used a palette knife and impasto on this painting which was the first impasto I had done. I find that if I have had a long break from painting I come back with different skills than I had before my break.
 
I won’t say it isn’t hard to return, I think I went through 5-7 canvases before I got my mojo back but I am very happy with this painting
